Hiroko ENSEKI

(b. Tokyo)

Hiroko’s ongoing love of the photographic medium started with experimentation using her father’s camera, prior to attending university. It was while studying for her first B.A. that she started to use Hasselblad cameras, which she continues to use more than fifteen years later.

Her still life pieces present sharp edges combined with the aesthetic of beauty and delicacy that hint at movement both before and after the image was captured. Observers will appreciate the artist’s dedication to the study of objects as portraits, resulting in cohesive bodies that present similarities and differences between images that draw in the viewer to take a closer look.

Hiroko has primarily exhibited in Tokyo and London, with solo and group exhibitions dating back to 2006. She lives in London and can be seen with a Hasselblad camera in hand.
